The fabric is waterproof, and there are all sorts of features to keep out wind and snow. An external stormflap keeps out wind-driven rain and snow, a powder skirt prevents snow from coming up on the inside, and inner sleeve cuffs keep cold air and moisture out of sleeves. There are also plenty of pockets on the Renegade Jacket so he can pack all his gear before he heads out.
